We are a husband-and-wife team who enjoy family history research and helping others with their research.
Dave Burns

Dave has extensive experience both as a member of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and with its history. His father and uncle served in the RAAF in World War II.
After joining the RAAF at the age of 18, Dave trained as a pilot and flew transport aircraft for the next 20 years. For his last 7 years with the RAAF, Dave worked as the Senior Research Officer with the Office of Air Force History (now Directorate of History – Air Force) in Canberra. He was awarded a Chief of Air Force Commendation (photo left) for his work in this position.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Melbourne University and is a member of the Military Historical Society. Apart from reading and researching military history, Dave enjoys restoring and driving his MG sports cars.
Sandy Burns

Sandy has many years’ experience as a teacher before becoming interested in family history. She has researched many of her ancestors including her great uncle who served in France with the Australian Flying Corps and her great-great-aunt who served in Egypt and France as an Australian Army nurse in World War I.
Sandy holds a Bachelor of Education from University of Western Sydney and is studying for a Diploma of Family History with University of Tasmania. Outside of genealogical studies, Sandy teaches crochet, knitting and embroidery at her own studio.
Dave and Sandy are happily married, with two adult children, and live near Bega on the NSW south coast.
